Well we have had a lovely successful year with opening our garden for charity.

On 11th July in glorious sunshine and in conjunction with four other local gardens, all members of the Limpsfield, Oxted and District Horticultural Society and the Hurst Green Gardening Club we raised money for the society and our local Cancer Research shop in Oxted.  We were able to give £300 to Cancer Research.

On 25th July on another lovely day we opened for the NGS (National Garden Scheme) and raised £638 to go to the charities they support, of which many are cancer charities.  The weather was in our favour as it was dry and sunny but not too hot.  We had an observation beehive on display for everybody to hunt for the queen and see what they get up to in the hive.  We have had a challenging year with our own bees but have managed to get a small a few jars of honey.

In 2011 we have decided to have a year off from opening for charity as there are a number of borders we want to replant and also to try and find a good solution for watering as our vegetables have suffered with this summers hot weather.  We should be back in 2012 with renewed vigor and new areas and planting.  So thank you for your support and we hope you will come back in 2012.
